The Left Bank & The Latin Quarter of Paris

Classic Paris Private Tours

Tour Description

Explore the Left Bank of the Seine and the Latin Quarter (named from medieval times when the majority of local residents were clergy or students who spoke Latin), home to some of the world’s most famous intellectuals and writers. The neighborhood where jazz was born in Paris and it’s medieval backstreets, mix vibrantly with the 19th century Boulevard St-Michel and Boulevard St Germain, both rich with cafés and bookshops (including the famous Shakespeare & Co).  Located near the Sorbonne University, you’ll visit the artistic haunts of Sartre, Hemingway, Camus –and James Baldwin, while walking Paris’ narrowest street and seeing the city’s oldest church. Your private guide will take you to see the Panthéon (outside only) where France’s most honorable are interned, along with a stroll through the Luxembourg Gardens, one of the most beautiful “people’s parks” in the world.
