DetailsFrance is steeped in religious history but visiting all the important churches in Paris can be overwhelming. If you’re interested in learning more about several of them, this private tour is ideal. Starting with a visit to Église Saint-Germain-des-Prés in the Latin Quarter (the only remaining Romanesque building in Paris), you’ll go on from there to Sainte-Chapelle (a jewel of Gothic architecture). Built as a shrine by Saint Louis in the 13th century to house the most precious relics in Christendom, the chapel is renowned for its beautiful stained-glass windows.
Notre Dame Cathedral, despite its recent tragic blaze, still stands in glory and can be visited from the outside. With the help of visual aids of the interior, you’ll learn its history and the touching international outpouring of love and funds, mobilizing its restoration.
Time permitting, we will visit 1 or 2 more glorious Paris churches: Saint-Gervais and finally Saint-Etienne.
