DetailsThe Loire Valley is rich in Renaissance castles, settings of the elegant Royal Court, an exhibit of its amorous lifestyle and adventures. After a morning drive throughout the French countryside, with your own private guide, we will admire first the Château of Chenonceau known as “the ladies castle,” maintained and beautified throughout the centuries by influential and powerful French women, such as Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici. Located on the river Cher, you will be impressed by the beautiful Renaissance architecture of this 16th-century chateau, with its fine interior decor of paintings, tapestries, and other surprises… Your Concierge will share all their secrets to make this tour unforgettable!
After a walk in the gardens, you will have the opportunity to relax over lunch in a lovely restaurant near the chateau. Afterwards, a short drive (about one hour) will bring us to the largest castle of the Loire Valley, Chambord.
Built at the request of Francois I and with the expertise of the great Leonardo da Vinci, the imposing and spectacular architecture evokes the glory of the King: this castle features an extraordinary double helix staircase, a panoramic terrace with monumental chimneys overlooking the chateau’s beautiful grounds, and the refurbished interior rooms.
