Sharon is the Co-founder and Director of AmericanConcierge.com and when she’s not co-producing something wonderful on Broadway, she has the incredible good fortune to live in Paris 3 months a year. In her never-ending quest to find the best of the best and the most interesting on offer in France for AmericanConcierge.com clients, she’s sightseeing, eating and overall observing everything everywhere.  Although she usually leaves the blogging to the bloggers, this time she had the idea but not the words… so she reached out to Chat GPT and although most of this is hers, she says working with A.I. was a hoot.  “Enjoy!”

A friend came back from a golfing trip in August to Scotland with his son, his son-in-law, and a friend of one of them.  He RAVED; gave it a standing ovation.  They had an amazing time together despite the weather the first few days… and he couldn’t get over how much he bonded with these younger men, doing what they loved to do, out of their usual environment doing it.  The trip had woven their shared love for golf into the tapestry of their relationship, strengthening their bond in ways they couldn’t have imagined.

The same could be said for women who take their daughters (and/or their granddaughters) to Paris.  There’s something inherently magical about a mother-daughter bond, and what better way to celebrate it than with a special trip to one of the most enchanting cities in the world? Picture strolling along cobblestone streets, sipping coffee in quaint cafes, and immersing yourselves in the rich culture and history of Paris.

Who doesn’t love a croissant??

From the bustling Champs-Élysées to the artistic neighborhood of Montmartre, Paris exudes an undeniable charm. On every street in every arrondissement, you’ll be greeted with stunning architecture, picturesque gardens, and iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame Cathedral. Together, you’ll marvel at the grandeur of the Louvre Museum, home to timeless masterpieces like the Mona Lisa, creating lasting impressions…

And then there are the culinary delights: Parisian cuisine is celebrated worldwide, and sampling the delectable treats on one of our private food tours is a total YUM.  Flaky croissants and rich café au lait in cozy sidewalk bistros…. colorful markets with fresh produce and artisan cheeses, mouthwatering macarons from Ladurée, decadent chocolate mousse at a charming patisserie….all matched with the perfect wines.  Paris truly knows how to satisfy every gastronomic craving!

But the heart of the trip would be in the intimate moments of connection and shared experiences between mother and daughter. Whether it’s a mesmerizing ballet performance at the Palais Garnier or a treasure hunt through the historic streets of the Marais district, discovering hidden boutiques, quaint bookstores, and charming cafes along the way, Paris offers so many options for conversation and awe… strolling through the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens or indulging in some retail therapy on the fashionable Avenue Montaigne… or just window-shopping French fashion and feeling a sense of glamour together… It’s all captivating.

Paris has a way of inspiring self-reflection and personal growth. A mother-daughter trip to Paris can be a catalyst for deep conversations, sharing insights about life, dreams, and aspirations.

A visit to the Shakespeare and Company bookstore is an opportunity to talk about books.. books that are fun to read, books that are inspiring… childhood books with covers recognizable in French are easy souvenirs of a shared adventure.

By taking part in a French cooking class, you’ll acquire new skills working side-by-side to create something delicious –and memorable because you created it together. Paris ultimately can be the backdrop for not only discovering the city’s treasures but also your own inner strengths.

And then there’s the final evening and a leisurely dinner cruise on the Seine where you can admire the city’s beauty from a unique vantage point while reminiscing with your daughter about each of your fondest memories.

Scotland offered my friend and his sons not only world-class golf courses but also the chance to connect with nature, history, and each other. With a heart full of memories, they left the land of kilts and bagpipes, knowing that their journey had been about much more than just a sport—it had been a voyage of discovery and connection.

But a mother-daughter trip to Paris is undoubtedly an unrivaled adventure, providing cherished memories and the opportunity to strengthen a bond that will endure a lifetime.
