If you are looking for luxury, charm, and pleasant staff, look no further than the Hôtel de Crillon. Conveniently located at Place de la Concorde and just next to the American Embassy in France you will enjoy all that this 5-star hotel has to offer.
The Hotel Crillon has a rich history, the building itself dates back to 1758 which was commissioned by King Louis XV to build two palaces to be offices for the French state. On February 6th, 1778 the building served as a meeting place for the newly founded United States of America and France to sign their first treaties. Famous Americans Benjamin Franklin and Arthur Lee met with French diplomats to sign the French-American treaty which recognized the Declaration of Independence.
In 1909 the building would become the Hôtel de Crillon which offers 124 guest rooms and 46 suites, ranging from $1,350 to $15,000 per night. The hotel also houses three restaurants, a popular bar, a gorgeous outdoor terrace, gym, and a spa complete with a magnificent pool for indoor swimming.
Even if you do not stay at the hotel, we highly recommend you stop in for afternoon tea complete with an excellent list of tea choices, and my personal favorite their creamy hot chocolate formed by melting whole bars of chocolate into a teapot with fluffy cream. The restaurant also offers the option to plant yourself outside in the terrace where you will forget you are even inside a city because of the peace you will experience surrounded by lush plants and little trees set in marble.
If you are more interested in the relaxation of the spa, you will merely descend downstairs where you will stumble upon a magnificent pool housing 17,600 gold tiles which create the illusion of a natural wall of light below the water. They offer a wide range of spa treatments including men’s grooming where you will relax in a leather chair while experts barber create your new style. They also have a separate salon for women world famous among celebrities and locals alike for their skillful grooming methods.
Beginning this June, the Hôtel de Crillon will welcome a Master of Kiyindo Shiatsu, who practices a therapeutic discipline, which reactivates the self-healing process of the body by re-establishing the circulation of vital energy which helps to loosen joints, correct posture, and create long-term strength for the body and mind.
We suggest taking a look inside their newly designed website to enjoy all this hotel has to offer. They just reopened their doors last year after a 4-year renovation. You can be sure to be pleasantly surprised by their new decor and outstanding service.
