It’s that time of year again, and the Parisian streets are full of holiday cheer! Take a stroll down the Champs-Élysées to take in this year’s glowing red Christmas lights filling the lined streets with joy. Every year the city is lined with small wood cabins to complete the Christmas markets, attracting visitors from around the world.
This year you can visit the markets in the Tuileries, La Defense, as well as Montmartre. Make sure to try France’s famous hot mulled wine. This lovely drink is warmed wine with added spices including cinnamon and orange. The perfect holiday drink to warm your soul in France.
Another great holiday idea is to visit the famous window displays at galeries lafayette shopping mall. This year the windows are full of dancing puppets. Venture inside the shopping center to view the beautiful giant christmas tree over 4 stories tall filling the inside dome with lights and color. This year you can take a stroll along the bridge at the top to take a closer view of the top of the tree.
After you finish your holiday shopping make sure to stop in and visit Angelina’s Tea House. We recommend this wonderful restaurant to all of our customers for their delicious hot chocolate. Just across from the Tuileries, this location makes for a perfect stop after exploring the fabulous Christmas markets and the famous place Vendome just nearby, which is also lined with lights and trees. Make your way down to Notre Dame after to view their beautiful blue lit Christmas tree, just in front of the church.
If you are feeling adventurous we recommend you head North to the famous Strasbourg Christmas market. This city is just on the border of Germany and has been nicknamed the capital of Christmas for its gorgeous markets. The whole village is lined with colorful lights, food, and cute french gift ideas. This city is circled by a river and usually has snow this time of year, making for the perfect location to celebrate all that Christmas has to offer.

The Château de Fontainebleau, just 35 miles southeast of central Paris, can proudly claim to have been a sovereign residence for eight centuries. Capétiens, Valois, Bourbons, Bonaparte and Orléans, all members of French ruling dynasties, have lived within these walls. The chateau dates back to 1137—and centuries of royals have expanded this former royal hunting lodge to a more than 1,500-room estate. Most of what you’ll see dates back to the 16th century, a combination of Italian Renaissance art and French design, these rooms are some of the most intricate and breathtaking in France.
