Day 3 (Option 2): Private Driving Tour: Hampton Court Palace

Your guide will meet you at your hotel to begin this private driving tour.

Hampton Court Palace was built by King Henry VIII 500 years ago and is a superb example of Tudor extravagance and royal wealth. It almost doubled in size in the late 1600s for King William and Queen Mary, creating a royal Stuart residence of baroque opulence and grandeur.

The Palace was renovated again for the Georgian kings and has been home to three royal dynasties. Magnificently designed, it’s big and it’s spectacular and jam-packed with art and treasures for us to see. This palace overflows with royal history and intrigue… and a ghost; there are so many tales to tell (!). Not to mention, Oscar-winner ‘The Favourite’ and ‘Bridgerton’ had scenes filmed here.

After the tour of the palace, you may enjoy negotiating Hampton Court’s famous Maze! We will allow time for lunch, which can be enjoyed either at The Tiltyard Cafe in the Palace Grounds or at The Swan which is a traditional riverside tavern before heading back to London.

*Note: Hampton Court Palace closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
